Meet the Team

Red

15 y/o Paint (About 45 in horse years)

I came to Michigan from a summer camp in southern Vermont. I am very confident and vigilant. I like riders that don't ask me to work too hard, and get distracted enough to let me nibble some grass. I am told that I am a very hansom fellow with comfortable gates, and I enjoy belly scratches.

Freckles

20 y/o POA (Pony of Americas) (About 60 in horse years)

I came from a private owner in Cross Village. I am quiet and enjoy hugs. I like riders that help me keep my balance and have a steady hand. I am a rather uncoordinated fellow, but I always give 110%. I am the sweetest guy around and I enjoy neck scratches.

Cecile

Owner, Manager, Trainer, Instructor

My mom took me to my first pony lesson at the age of 4, and the rest is history. I took lessons at every opportunity after that, and at 14 became a first time horse owner. I worked off my board and joined the Equestrian Team. After graduating from Harbor Springs High School I moved away for my studies. No matter where I went, I always found myself near horses.

In 2020 I decided to lay down some roots in a quiet little place I called Whisper Wood Farm. Here, I have continued to grow into myself and the farm. I enjoy watching others grow as well, so opening the farm to others is one of the most rewarding moves I've ever made.

Education

2015-2018

BS in Adventure Education
Green Mountain College

While I majored in Adventure Education, I minored in Wilderness and Outdoor Therapy, even humans grow best in the great outdoors. As President of the Equestrian Club and a Green Mountain Adventure Program Leader, I have always encouraged others to get out there!

2013-2014

Riding Master IV, Training Level II
Meredith Manor Equestrian School

With over 350 hours of riding and additional time spent starting young horses, I absorbed a lot in one year. While also managed a campus barn and making President and Deans list. From moody mares, stallions, and young horses going through the terrible twos, I learned from all of them.

2011-2012

European School of Animal Osteopathy

Anatomy of the horse as well as cows, cats and dogs. I cultivated a deep appreciation for the power behind the beauty that horses posses.
